    This Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy is a classic comfort food dish, perfect for a hearty dinner.

    Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy Recipe

     

    Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy Recipe

    Ingredients:
    – 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed French onion soup, divided
    – 1 lb lean ground beef
    – ½ cup breadcrumbs
    – 1 teaspoon dried parsley
    – ½ teaspoon salt
    – 1 egg
    – Pepper to taste
    – 1 tablespoon olive oil
    – 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    – ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    – ¼ cup ketchup
    – ¼ cup water
    – 1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    – ½ teaspoon mustard powder
    – 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

    Instructions:
    Step 1: Prepare the Patties
    – In a medium-sized bowl, combine the ground beef, ⅓ cup of the French onion soup, breadcrumbs, egg, dried parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
    – Divide the mixture into 6 oval-shaped patties.

    Step 2: Brown the Patties
    – Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    – Brown the patties on both sides until they are golden brown. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

    Step 3: Make the Gravy
    – In a small bowl, mix the remaining French onion soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, flour, garlic powder, mustard powder, and water until smooth.

    Step 4: Cook the Patties in Gravy
    – Return the browned patties to the skillet.
    – Pour the gravy mixture over the patties and add the sliced mushrooms on top.
    – Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through and the gravy has thickened.

    Step 5: Serve
    – Once cooked, serve the Salisbury steak hot with the mushroom gravy poured over the top.
