    Homemade Cinnamon Rolls: Soft, Fluffy, and Irresistibly Delicious

    Looking for the perfect homemade cinnamon rolls recipe? These soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls are loaded with cinnamon-sugar goodness and topped with a creamy vanilla cream cheese icing. Whether you’re baking them for breakfast or a special treat, these easy cinnamon rolls will be a hit!

    Ingredients:

    For the Dough:

    3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

    1 cup warm milk

    1/3 cup sugar

    1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

    1 egg

    1/2 tsp salt

    1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

    For the Filling:

    1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

    3/4 cup brown sugar

    2 tbsp ground cinnamon

    For the Cream Cheese Icing:

    4 oz cream cheese, softened

    1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

    1 cup powdered sugar

    1 tsp vanilla extract

    2 tbsp milk

    Instructions:

    1. Make the Dough:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast becomes frothy. Add softened butter, egg, vanilla extract (if using), and salt. Gradually add the flour and nutmeg (if using), mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

    2. Prepare the Cinnamon Filling:
    While the dough is rising, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until well combined. This will be your delicious cinnamon-sugar filling.

    3. Assemble the Cinnamon Rolls:
    Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a 16×12 inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Starting from the long side, roll the dough up tightly into a log. Slice the log into 12 even rolls and place them in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.

    4. Let the Rolls Rise Again:
    Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes, or until puffed up and ready to bake.

    5. Bake the Cinnamon Rolls:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on top.

    6. Prepare the Cream Cheese Icing:
    While the cinnamon rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a medium bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.

    7. Glaze and Serve:
    Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven and slightly cooled, generously spread the cream cheese icing over the top. Serve the rolls warm, and enjoy the gooey, cinnamon-filled goodness!
