    French onion savoury mince

    French onion savoury mince

    Ingredients:

    – 1 pound ground beef
    – 1 tablespoon olive oil
    – 2 large onions, thinly sliced
    – 2 cloves garlic, minced
    – 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    – 1 cup beef broth
    – 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    – 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    – Salt and pepper, to taste
    – Mashed potatoes or cooked rice, for serving
    – Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.

    2. Remove excess fat from the skillet once the meat is browned.

    3. Add sliced onions to the skillet and cook over medium heat until soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

    4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

    5. Sprinkle flour over the meat and onion mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes to remove the raw taste of the flour.

    6. Gradually add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme to the skillet, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

    7. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens and the flavors meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    8. Serve the French Onion Savory Mince over mashed potatoes or cooked rice.

    9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
