    Ingredients:

    For the Cake:

    4 large eggs

    1 cup (8 fl oz) milk

    1 cup (3.5 oz) high-quality unsweetened cocoa powder

    2 cups (9 oz) all-purpose flour

    ½ cup (4 fl oz) vegetable oil

    2 cups (14 oz) granulated sugar

    1 tablespoon baking powder

    For the Brigadeiro (Filling & Frosting):

    1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

    1 carton (7.6 fl oz) heavy cream

    1 tablespoon butter

    4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

    For Assembly & Decoration:

    Milk (for soaking the cake layers)

    Chocolate sprinkles, to taste

     

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

    Preheat & Prep: Set your oven to 356°F (180°C). Grease a round cake pan and dust with flour to prevent sticking.
    Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil and milk, mixing well.
    Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually sift in the cocoa powder and flour, stirring gently to combine.
    Add Baking Powder: Mix in the baking powder without over-stirring.
    Bake: Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.

     

    Step 2: Make the Brigadeiro Frosting

    Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix sweetened condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder.
    Cook: Heat over medium, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides (8-10 minutes).
    Finish with Heavy Cream: Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream for a smooth, spreadable consistency. Let cool.

     

    Step 3: Assemble the Cake

    Slice the Cake: Once fully cooled, carefully cut the cake into two even layers.
    Milk Soak: Lightly drizzle milk over each layer to keep it extra moist.
    Add Brigadeiro Filling: Spread a generous layer of brigadeiro over the bottom cake layer.
    Stack & Frost: Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining brigadeiro using a spatula.

     

    Step 4: Decorate & Chill

    Sprinkle & Finish: Coat the cake with chocolate sprinkles for a classic Brigadeiro Cake look.
