    Crock Pot Pizza Casserole Recipe

    This Crock Pot Pizza Casserole is a comforting, family-friendly dish that combines all the classic pizza flavors with tender pasta and gooey cheese. It’s made with flavorful Italian sausage, rich pizza sauce, and a blend of mozzarella, Colby Jack, and Parmesan cheeses. Easy to prepare and cooked to perfection in a slow cooker, it’s the ultimate hands-off dinner. Customize it with your favorite pizza toppings for extra variety. Perfect for busy weeknights or potlucks, this recipe will quickly become a household favorite!

    Ingredients:

    16 oz Rotini pasta

    2 tsp olive oil

    1 lb ground Italian sausage

    1 tsp salt

    1 tsp black pepper

    ½ cup onions (about 1 small onion, finely chopped)

    3 cups pizza sauce (or 2 jars, 14 oz each)

    1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)

    1½ cups mozzarella cheese (divided)

    1½ cups Colby Jack cheese (divided)

    1 cup Parmesan cheese (divided)

    Instructions:

    1. Cook the Pasta: Boil rotini pasta until just under al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    2. Brown the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add ground Italian sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.

    3. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, sausage, pizza sauce, cream of mushroom soup, and half of each type of cheese (mozzarella, Colby Jack, and Parmesan). Mix well.

    4. Assemble in Crock Pot: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Pour in the pasta mixture, spreading it evenly.

    5. Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella, Colby Jack, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.

    6. Cook:

    Cover with the lid and cook on HIGH for 1½-2 hours or LOW for 3-4 hours until heated through and the cheese is bubbly.

    7. Garnish & Serve: For an extra touch of flavor, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil before serving (optional).

    Use spicy Italian sausage for a kick of heat, or swap it with ground beef or turkey for a milder flavor.
