Creamy Skillet Chicken with Mushrooms in Asiago Cheese Sauce

This Creamy Skillet Chicken with Mushrooms in Asiago Sauce is the ultimate comfort dish, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends. Tender chicken breasts are coated in a rich, garlicky sauce made with heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and tangy Asiago cheese. Sautéed mushrooms add an earthy depth that pairs beautifully with the creamy sauce. Serve it over pasta or rice for a complete, satisfying meal. A must-try for mushroom and cheese lovers!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb chicken breasts, sliced

2 cups mushrooms, sliced (baby bella or white mushrooms work great!)

    1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup Asiago cheese, grated (for that nutty, tangy flavor)

    2 tbsp Dijon mustard

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    Olive oil for sautéing

    Salt and pepper to taste

    Directions:

    1. Heat Olive Oil & Cook Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Once cooked, remove the chicken and set aside.

    2. Sauté Mushrooms & Garlic: In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until the mushrooms are tender and golden, releasing their delicious flavors.

    3. Create Creamy Asiago Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, then stir in the Dijon mustard and grated Asiago cheese. Cook, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.

    4. Combine & Season: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, mixing well to coat it in the Asiago sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

    5. Serve & Enjoy: Serve your Creamy Skillet Chicken with Mushrooms hot over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley if desired.

    Tips for Best Flavor:

Use freshly grated Asiago cheese for maximum creaminess.

Serve with crusty bread to mop up every drop of that luscious sauce!
