    Classic Homemade Spaghetti Recipe

     

    This Homemade Spaghetti recipe brings the authentic flavors of fresh pasta to your kitchen! Made with simple ingredients, this fresh pasta is easy to prepare and perfect for pairing with any sauce, from rich marinara to creamy Alfredo. Kneading and rolling the dough by hand gives it that classic, homemade texture. Ready in minutes once boiled, this pasta is perfect for a family dinner or a cozy night in. Enjoy your spaghetti with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs for an extra touch!

    Ingredients:

    2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

    3 large eggs

    1/2 tsp salt

    1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

    Instructions:

    Make the Dough:

    On a clean work surface or in a large bowl, pile the flour and make a well in the center. Add eggs, salt, and olive oil (if using) into the well.

    Use a fork to gently beat the eggs, gradually incorporating the flour from the inner rim. Continue mixing until the dough becomes too stiff to handle with a fork.

    Knead the Dough:

    Knead by hand for 8-10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic. Sprinkle more flour if sticky.

    Wrap in plastic and rest for 30 minutes at room temperature to relax the gluten.

    Roll Out the Dough:

    After resting, divide dough into four pieces. Keep unused portions covered to prevent drying.

    Flatten each piece slightly and roll it out with a pasta machine or rolling pin to about 1/16 inch thick, dusting with flour as needed.

    Cut the Spaghetti:

    For a pasta machine, use the spaghetti cutter attachment. If cutting by hand, fold the dough and slice thinly to create classic spaghetti strands.

    Dust freshly cut spaghetti with flour to avoid sticking.

    Cook the Fresh Spaghetti:

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti, cooking for 2-4 minutes until al dente. Fresh pasta cooks quickly!

    Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

    Serve with Sauce:

    Toss the cooked spaghetti with marinara, Alfredo, or pesto sauce, adding a splash of pasta water to blend. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil or parsley for added flavor.
