    Flawless French Toast

    INGREDIENTS:
    – 8 thick slices of bread (use hearty white bread, approximately 1/2″ thick slices)
    – 1 1/2 cups warm whole milk
    – 4 eggs
    – 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
    – 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    – 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing the skillet
    – 1/4 teaspoon salt
    – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    PREPARATION:
    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
    2. Place the bread on a wire rack or baking sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes. Flip the slices and bake for another 8 minutes. Remove from the rack and let cool for 5 minutes.
    3. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and vanilla until well blended.
    4. Transfer the mixture to a large baking dish.
    5. Soak each slice of bread in the mixture for about 20 seconds per side, then transfer to a separate baking sheet to prevent sogginess.
    6. Lower the oven temperature to 200°F to keep the cooked French toast warm.
    7. Heat butter in a skillet over low heat. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
    8. Transfer the cooked toast to a baking sheet and place it in the oven to keep warm.
    9. Repeat until all the toast is cooked. Serve warm with butter, powdered sugar, and/or maple syrup.
    10. Enjoy your delicious French toast!
