Ingredients:
For the Hamburger Steaks:
2 pounds ground beef
½ onion, diced
1 cup saltine crackers, crumbled
1 cup milk
¼ cup flour
½ teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons butter
Salt & black pepper to taste
For the Creamy Mushroom Gravy:
1-2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1.5 cups milk
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Patties
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, crumbled saltines, milk, diced onion, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
Shape the mixture into oval or rectangular patties, similar to Salisbury steak.
Lightly coat each patty in flour, shaking off excess.
Step 2: Sear for Flavor
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the patties for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Bake to Perfection
Place the browned patties in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour the gravy over the patties.
Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes for a golden finish.
Serve & Enjoy!
