These Slow Cooker Chicken Legs are the ultimate comfort food juicy, tender, and coated in flavorful BBQ sauce. With minimal prep and the convenience of a slow cooker, this recipe is perfect for busy days or lazy weekends. Broiling the drumsticks at the end adds a sticky, caramelized glaze that’s hard to resist. Garnish with fresh herbs or sesame seeds for an extra pop of flavor. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing dish that will quickly become a family favorite!

    Ingredients:

    8 chicken drumsticks (about 3 lbs/1.4 kg)

Fine sea salt and ground black pepper

2 cups BBQ sauce (divided) – use your favorite!

    Instructions:

    1. Slow Cook the Chicken Legs:

    1. Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels for crispier skin.

    2. Generously season the chicken legs with sea salt and ground black pepper.

    3. Place the drumsticks into your slow cooker.

    4. Pour 1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce over the chicken legs and toss well to coat. Reserve the remaining ½ cup for broiling.

    5. Cover and cook:

    HIGH for 3 ¼ – 4 hours

LOW for 5-6 hours, or until the drumsticks are tender and fully cooked.

    2. Optional Broiling (Highly Recommended):

    1. Preheat the broiler and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

    2. Using tongs, carefully transfer the cooked drumsticks to the baking sheet.

    3. Brush the chicken legs with some of the reserved BBQ sauce.

    4. Broil for 1-2 minutes until the skin becomes sticky and lightly charred.

    5. Flip the drumsticks, brush the other side with sauce, and broil for another 1-2 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

    3. Garnish and Serve

Top with your favorite garnishes for added flavor and presentation:

    Toasted sesame seeds

    Chopped parsley or cilantro

    Sliced green onions

    Red chili flakes

Serve immediately and enjoy these irresistible Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Legs!

    Note:

Choose a BBQ sauce that suits your taste sweet, smoky, or spicy.

Reserve enough sauce for both cooking and broiling to maximize flavor.
