Honey Butter Fried Chicken Recipe – Crispy, Juicy, and Deliciously Sweet

Honey Butter Fried Chicken Recipe – Crispy, Juicy, and Deliciously Sweet!

    Ingredients

    For the Fried Chicken:

    8 chicken drumsticks

    2 cups buttermilk

    2 cups all-purpose flour

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon paprika

    1 teaspoon black pepper

    1 teaspoon salt

    Vegetable oil (for frying)

    For the Honey Butter Glaze:

    ¼ cup butter, melted

    ⅓ cup honey

1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional, for a spicy kick)

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    Pinch of salt

    Instructions

    1. Marinate the Chicken: Begin by marinating your chicken drumsticks in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or leave them overnight for the juiciest fried chicken. This buttermilk marinade tenderizes the meat, making it perfect for crispy fried chicken.

    2. Prepare Seasoned Flour Coating: In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. This seasoned flour mix will help you get that ideal crispy crust on your honey butter fried chicken.

    3. Dredge the Chicken: Remove each drumstick from the buttermilk marinade, allowing any excess buttermilk to drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture for an extra crunchy texture.

    4. Fry the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. This method creates that golden, crispy fried chicken exterior while keeping the inside juicy. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

    5. Make the Honey Butter Glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter and stir in honey, garlic powder, hot sauce (optional), and a pinch of salt. This honey butter glaze adds a perfect balance of sweet and savory to your fried chicken.

    6. Coat the Chicken: Drizzle the honey butter glaze over each piece of fried chicken or gently toss all pieces to ensure they’re coated evenly.
