    Layered Phyllo Pastry with Brie Cranberry Sauce and Pecans

     

    This Layered Phyllo Pastry with Brie, Cranberry Sauce, and Pecans is an elegant and easy appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings. The crispy phyllo layers complement the creamy Brie, while the tangy cranberry sauce and toasted pecans add a delightful contrast. A drizzle of honey brings just the right amount of sweetness to balance the flavors. This refined dish is not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious.     Ingredients:

    12 sheets phyllo dough, thawed

    8 oz (225 g) Brie cheese, thinly sliced

    ½ cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)

    ½ cup pecans, toasted and roughly chopped

    3 tbsp honey (plus extra for drizzling)

    4 tbsp melted butter (for brushing the phyllo dough)

    Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven:
    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2. Prepare the phyllo layers:
    Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with more butter. Continue this process until you have a stack of 6 sheets. Cut the stack into 4×4 inch rectangles and place them on the baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets.

    3. Bake the phyllo:
    Bake the phyllo rectangles for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Let them cool slightly.

    4. Assemble the pastry:
    On a serving plate, place one phyllo rectangle and layer with sliced Brie, a spoonful of cranberry sauce, and a sprinkle of chopped pecans. Top with another phyllo rectangle and repeat the layers. Finish with a final phyllo layer.

    5. Drizzle with honey:
    Drizzle the assembled pastry with honey for a touch of sweetness. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.

    6. Serve:
    Serve warm and enjoy the perfect blend of flavors crispy phyllo, melted Brie, sweet-tart cranberry sauce, and nutty pecans.
