    Easy and Delicious Mini Apple Desserts

    Delight in these Apple Crisp Bites, each a perfect blend of tender apples infused with cinnamon and nutmeg, nestled in a buttery puff pastry cup and topped with a crispy oat and brown sugar topping. These easy apple desserts are ideal for any occasion, bringing together the comforting flavors of apple crisp in a convenient handheld form. Serve warm with a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra touch of indulgence.

    Ingredients:

    For the Apple Filling:
    – Large apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
    – Granulated sugar
    – Lemon juice
    – Ground cinnamon
    – Ground nutmeg
    – Cornstarch

    For the Crisp Topping:
    – All-purpose flour
    – Old-fashioned oats
    – Brown sugar, packed
    – Ground cinnamon
    – Salt
    – Unsalted butter, cold and cubed

    For the Base:
    – Package (sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
    – Optional: Caramel sauce for drizzling

    Instructions:

    Step 1: Prepare the Apple Filling
    – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    – In a medium bowl, combine chopped apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and cornstarch. Stir until apples are well coated. Set aside.

    Step 2: Make the Crisp Topping
    – In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
    – Add cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.

    Step 3: Prepare the Puff Pastry
    – On a lightly floured surface, unfold thawed puff pastry sheets and roll each sheet into a 12-inch square.
    – Cut each sheet into equal squares, giving you a total of squares.
    – Gently press each square into the cups of a mini muffin tin, forming little pastry cups.

    Step 4: Assemble the Apple Crisp Bites
    – Spoon about 1 tablespoon of apple filling into each pastry cup.
    – Sprinkle a generous amount of the crisp topping over each filled cup.

    Step 5: Bake
    – Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the topping is crisp.
    – Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

    Step 6: Serve
    – Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired before serving.
